Celebrating a Successful Year with AgCareers.com

As another year comes to pass, AgCareers.com is thankful for the opportunity to bring together employers in the agricultural and food industries with top talent across the globe. We look forward to enhancing the user experience even more in 2015!

2014 brought many exciting opportunities and additions to AgCareers.com. During the past year, more than 60,000 new jobs have been posted on AgCareers.com in North America. Over 125,000 applicants have applied to one or more positions on the site. Candidates are searching for exciting opportunities in agriculture, with more than 6,000 new resumes added to the AgCareers.com database so far in 2014. Followers to AgCareers.com social networks continued to grow with exciting content and contests. More than 20,000 people follow AgCareers.com on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and YouTube.

The year started analyzing trends from 2013 with the AgCareers.com Agribusiness Job Reports. The analysis yielded a positive outlook for the agricultural industry, as ag companies are looking to fill job openings with qualified talent and candidates are increasingly considering opportunities through AgCareers.com.

We released the results of the Perceptions of Agricultural Careers survey as an addition to the U.S. Education & Enrollment Outlook Report. The survey, answered by nearly 350 students, was designed to gauge their opinions of careers in agriculture, the availability of these careers, and what they are seeking from their first employer.

AgCareers.com hosted educational webinars for employers throughout 2014, but also added our first job seeker webinar for military veterans in June to support the Ag Warriors program. The International Agri-Center officially transferred the Ag Warriors program to AgCareers.com during the 2014 World Ag Expo.

We held the Internship Programs that Yield Results workshop in April with a group of nearly forty HR and recruiting professionals. The 2014 Ag & Food HR Roundtable experienced its largest crowd ever in August. More than 230 human resource professionals, university and college career services staff and industry association representatives gathered in Minneapolis for networking and educational sessions.

AgCareers.com conducted the Candidate Motivation & Behavior in the Agricultural Industry survey in the summer of 2014. More than 1,500 people responded to the questionnaire that examined what motivated employee candidates to look for a new position and ultimately make the decision to change jobs. Valuable insight can be gained from the full report that was released in October.

We developed 58 career profiles for high demand jobs in the industry as a helpful resource for students, job seekers and career educators. These career profiles are available on the site and also in a printer-friendly PDF format.

In the fall, AgCareers.com welcomed six collegiate ambassadors to the team for the 2014/2015 school year. In its 11th consecutive year of the program, ambassadors are located at Kansas State University, Mississippi State University, University of Kentucky, University of Wisconsin River Falls, Lakeland College and Utah State University.

AgCareers.com also launched the Android job seeker mobile app in late 2014, available through Google Play.

We are proud to be introducing a fresh, new site design. The new AgCareers.com will have a brand-new look and features to simplify the user experience for both job seekers and employers. Get your sneak peek of the new AgCareers.com now!
