Miles City Livestock Commission Company is one of the oldest stockyards in this part of America. In the early years it was strictly a horse market and shipped thousands of military horses all over the world. In 1941 the auction began selling all classes of livestock with an emphasis on cattle.
Miles City Livestock Commission Company has had many years of continuous growth. Receipts have grown from 20,000 to 90,000 head of cattle anually. An additional 25,000 -30,000 head are sold by Frontier Stockyards – our Internet livestock sales partner.
We are very proud of our facility. It is clean, well managed, and very functional. We can handle any class of livestock including buffalo. Cattle are well taken care of and purchased cattle go back on feed and water after each sale.
Miles City Livestock is an anchor business in Miles City MT. A large employer and the biggest drawing card for ranchers to trade in Miles City.
-Need an ambitious individual with 2-3 years of experience, not scared of work, growth, and change
-Assist with facilities maintenance and upkeep as needed taking pride in there work as well as the facilities.
-Good equipment operating skills
-Good maintenance skills, fabrication, mechanical, and welding skills are a plus
-Need solid work references of your skills, and work history
-Strong communication skills, work ethic, team player, and good record keeper
-Reliable, responsible, and dependable
-Ability to lead new employee orientation and training of cattle safety
-Good animal skills, rations, sorting skills, and keeping on schedule is a must
-Self motivated with organizational of daily management of crews, cattle and seasonal workload
This is a southeastern Montana Auction. Person needs to be hardworking and dependable. We really prefer candidates who have grown up on a Ranch and know the cattle industry. Experience backgrounding cattle would be ideal. Prefer a person who knows how to operate machinery, weld, and be a leader. Sorting all classes of cattle is a must. Ideal person would be someone that has 2-3 years of experience in the cattle industry, ready to take on responsibility of getting things completed and keeping on schedule. Employer is looking for an energetic person that will be his right hand to assist him with growth and opportunity that presents itself over the years to come.
