Global Commercial Assessment & Forecasting (GCAF) is a global function encompassing long-range pharmaceutical asset forecasting across the product lifecycles of all assets within Human Health (Oncology, Vaccines, Hospital Specialty / Primary care). Assets include early and late-stage molecules in clinical development, companies under considerations by business development for partnering and/ or acquisition as well as currently launched products. Forecasting deliverables support division planning and decision making across multiple functional areas such as finance, manufacturing, product development and commercial.

As we endeavor, we are seeking a dynamic talent for the role of "Sr. Specialist, Data Scientist".
The preferred candidate will have an understanding of healthcare, technology, and data science, and be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and an ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This role requires excellent programming skills in Python and exceptional solutioning abilities for complicated business problems. Exposure to simulations, process automation, reporting and dashboarding capabilities, and pharmaceutical forecasting experience will be added advantage. The Sr. Specialist, Data Scientist will support a multi-functional team and be responsible for project deliver management, so strong communication skills are also a must.
Primary Tasks:
Responsible for delivery of designs, specifications, and requirements, and working with a team of data scientists and developers in the definition and delivery of forecasting and other analytical solutions.
Recommend and support process changes through analytics, understanding of the business, and problem solving.
Work closely with stakeholders to envision analytical methods to be aligned with business requirements.
Interface with requirements and a development team for identifying required activities, supporting delivery, and reviewing deliverables.
Collaborate on software development patterns and standards with the development team
Collaborate on idea generation, definition, and construction with teams across the company.
Provide technical guidance and project management support to other team members.
Participate in the development and presentation of ideas and system improvements
Conduct code reviews, ensure changes enhance maintainability, performance, and security
Education:
A minimum of BS (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or an equivalent quantitative discipline.
Knowledge and Skills:
3+ years experience in design and delivery of data-intensive applications for analytical use-cases.
Applied experience related to time-series forecasting, stochastic simulation, optimization, and machine learning
Experience developing statistical and machine learning models in Python
Deep understanding of the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
Demonstrable expertise of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, etc.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both oral and written) with the ability to clearly
Communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences
Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional teams effectively
Demonstrated competency in developing and managing complex project plans
