You are an experienced Linux automation engineer with a passion for Linux, automation, and the continuing development of your technological skills. We want you to be part of our global team which focuses on creating new Linux gold images in an automated fashion. We help customers deploy and configure servers through code. Key to success is the security and compliance of the images we create, and as such, will be integral to this role.

Responsibilities
  • Own completion of tasks within our image bakery, driving the development of enhancements of our products to our customers.
  • Be one of the subject matter experts on the Linux operating system.
  • Work towards automating everything, providing solutions through code
  • Understand the importance of maintaining control and compliance of our processes, images and systems, folding this work into all tasks
  • Seek out emerging technologies and processes, and share them with the global team for future product development


Required knowledge and experience
  • 7+ years Linux, especially Red Hat Enterprise Linux, with some knowledge of other distributions, both rpm and deb based desirable.
  • 3+ years AWS cloud technologies, especially EC2
  • 2+ years writing configuration as code (e.g., Ansible)
  • 7+ years Scripting in at least one language: shell, python, etc.


Desirable qualifications
  • Ansible playbooks & templates and workflows in Ansible tower
  • Infrastructure as code experience, such as terraform, packer, etc.
  • On-premises infrastructure deployment experience
  • Agile product development experience
  • Excellent communication with management, peers and customers, in both oral and written form
  • Possession of a growth mindset
  • Be a great problem solver, with a desire and the skills to dig in to complex infrastructure issues not limited to Linux
