About the role.
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse shipping and receiving operations in alignment with schedules established through the Transportation Management System (TMS). This role ensures efficient truck loading, inventory accuracy, safe and productive dock operations, and effective team leadership within a fast-paced cold storage environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong operational leadership, a commitment to safety, and the desire to grow into progressive leadership opportunities within the department.
 

What you’ll be doing.

  • Supervise daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure adherence to Transportation Management System (TMS) schedules.
  • Manage the efficient loading and unloading of transportation vehicles while maintaining productivity and service standards.
  • Oversee inventory control processes within the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring inventory accuracy and integrity.
  • Utilize WMS tools to monitor productivity, perform inventory counts, and investigate product movement and inventory history.
  • Generate and distribute daily operational reports, including shift efficiency, loading productivity, and inventory metrics.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members through training, performance goal setting, and ongoing performance management.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment, ensuring compliance with housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to support safety, quality, customer service, and operational objectives.
  • Promote and reinforce safe work practices, actively participating in health and safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage employee performance through coaching, performance improvement plans, and progressive discipline when required.
  • Support rotating shift operations, including weekends and holidays, and participate in meetings and training sessions as needed.

 

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience working in warehouse, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or cold storage operations.
  • 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience with a demonstrated desire to advance into larger leadership responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork, employee engagement, and workplace safety.
  • Excellent attendance and reliability.

The Shipping & Receiving team plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of products through the warehouse and distribution network. This position leads frontline employees, collaborates closely with transportation, production, inventory, and quality teams, and helps drive operational excellence through strong leadership, safety focus, and continuous improvement.

Compensation Package: $58,800.00 - $78,500.00 0 CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
