About the role.
The Network Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of McCain’s enterprise network environment. Reporting to the Manager, Network Operations, this role supports day-to-day network operations across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments while contributing to continuous improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives.

 

What you’ll be doing.

  • Administer, maintain, and monitor LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center networks
  • Provide operational support and act as an escalation point for complex network incidents
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures to avoid recurring issues
  • Support Cisco networking technologies including routing, switching, wireless, and SD-WAN
  • Manage Azure networking services such as VNets, VPN gateways, and firewalls
  • Support hybrid cloud connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments
  • Administer application delivery and edge services such as NetScaler, Zscaler, and Cloudflare
  • Implement and maintain network security controls including firewalls and segmentation
  • Contribute to automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
  • Maintain and update technical documentation for network architecture and operational procedures

 

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–3 years of experience in network administration or operations
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP)
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise networking technologies
  • Experience supporting Azure networking in production environments
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud network environments
  • Exposure to network security tools and best practices
  • Working knowledge of automation and scripting tools such as Terraform, Python, or PowerShell
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or cloud certifications are considered an asset

You will be part of the Infrastructure & Operations team, working closely with Network Engineers, Cloud teams, IT Security, and IT Operations. This team is responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity across McCain’s global technology environment.

Compensation Package: $52,600.00 - $70,200.00 . CAD annually
