About the role
McCain Produce Inc. is currently seeking a General Labourer to join our team at the Lansdowne Potato Packing Facility. This facility operates approximately 10 months each year, with a seasonal shutdown during the summer months. As a General Labourer, you will play an important role in maintaining product quality, supporting production operations, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

What you'll be doing

• Follow all company safety, food safety, and quality requirements.
• Sort, grade, inspect, and package potatoes according to established standards.
• Remove rocks, debris, defective products, and foreign material from production lines.
• Perform material handling duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Assist with product movement and packaging operations throughout the facility.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area through daily housekeeping and sanitation activities.
• Monitor product quality and report concerns to supervisors.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets.
• Participate in team meetings and training as required.
• Assist with equipment operation and report maintenance concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful

• Previous experience in manufacturing, warehousing, agriculture, or food production is considered an asset.
• Reliable transportation to and from the facility.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a shift.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attendance and reliability.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to work varying shifts, weekends, overtime, and extended hours as required.

The compensation listed reflects the target range at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.

Compensation Package: Starting at $18.50 CAD hourly
