About the role.

We are seeking an Cloud COE Architect, Infrastructure Engineering & Operations (IE&O) to join our Global Digital Technology team. Reporting to the Sr Director, IE&O, this role contributes to the success of McCain’s architecture program by providing technical leadership, solution design expertise, and strategic guidance across infrastructure and cloud environments. The successful candidate will partner with business and technology stakeholders to define requirements, develop scalable solutions, and support McCain’s future-state architecture across both on-premises and cloud platforms. 

 

What you’ll be doing.

  • Analyze business and technical requirements to understand impacts across applications, infrastructure, and network environments.
  • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps in partnership with business units, architecture teams, operations teams, and vendors.
  • Design future-state infrastructure, data center, and cloud architecture capabilities that align with business objectives. 
  • Create technical white papers, recommendations, and presentations for senior leadership on emerging technologies and strategic opportunities. 
  • Lead architecture reviews and develop detailed solution designs that meet business, security, scalability, and operational requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to team members while sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Stay current on industry trends, technologies, architecture frameworks, and cloud innovations.
  • Support the design and delivery of complex cloud and hybrid solutions across Microsoft Azure and related technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, application teams, and operational teams to ensure successful implementation and ongoing support.
     

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience as a Solutions or Infrastructure Architect supporting complex enterprise environments. 
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, and technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to design stable, scalable, high-performing, and secure technology solutions.
  • Experience implementing architecture standards, governance practices, and technology best practices.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure services, cloud networking, compute, storage, security, and data platforms.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform and Ansible.
  • Proficiency with scripting and automation technologies such as Python, YAML, Bash, and Azure DevOps. 
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies, containerization, and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS. 
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices, Agile methodologies, cloud observability, and DevOps principles.
  • Experience with digital manufacturing technologies, Azure data services, and cloud migration initiatives is considered an asset.
  • Azure certifications and familiarity with ITIL and TOGAF frameworks are considered strong assets.

This role sits within Global Digital Technology and is part of the Infrastructure Architecture function. The Infrastructure Solution Architect works closely with enterprise architects, application teams, infrastructure operations, project teams, and business stakeholders to develop and deliver technology solutions that support McCain’s global business strategy.

Compensation Package: $102,700.00 - $137,000.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
