Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our hatchery team as a Sanitation Team Member. The successful candidate will be part of the Hatchery sanitation team and will be responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of hatchery equipment, rooms, and tray wash operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a clean environment, ensuring high standards of animal care, food safety, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with team members to support daily hatchery operations and help achieve production goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, floors, walls and ceilings of rooms, filters, ductwork, tops and tunnels
  • Complete start up, operation and shut down of tray washer
  • Wash hatch tray rollers and return to clean room for tray washer operator
  • Power hose any remaining dirt and debris from trays that need to be re-cleaned
  • Remove trays from tray washer, inspect, and stack on clean rollers when tray washer operator is performing other duties
  • Disinfect stacks of hatching trays
  • Operate tray washer (start-up, operation, shutdown), including cleaning hatch tray rollers, re-cleaning soiled trays, and assisting with tray handling during operator downtime
  • Inspect, stack, and disinfect washed trays on clean rollers, ensuring all trays are free of debris and ready for reuse.
  • Remove trays from tray washer, inspect, and stack on clean rollers
  • Setter sanitation support on Wednesday's
  • Other duties as assigned

 

What's in it for you?

  • $21.56- $22.56 per hour (based on progression)
  • All PPE is provided to employees (Boot Reimbursement of $125 after 3 months of service)

 

Qualifications

  • Be reliable and dependable with strong attendance and punctuality
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and safe work practices
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on business and production needs, including Statutory Holidays
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, repetitive work environment
  • Comfortable working in wet/humid conditions and varying temperatures
  • Ability to use power hoses and work at heights, including ladders and the tops of setters and hatchers
  • Must be capable of standing for extended periods
  • Must be capable of lifting, pushing, and carrying 30 to 50 lbs. repetitively, including overhead lifting
  • Understanding of, and commitment to following, Animal Welfare, PCP, and Biosecurity procedures
  • Proven performance in current role, including attendance record
  • Able to work varying & flexible hours until job complete
  • Must be available to work Statutory Holidays
