Job Description

 

The Opportunity:

The Occupational Health Coordinator/Nurse works closely with Managers, Supervisors and individual employees to promote occupational health, safety and environmental compliance in the plant.
 

Coordinates training, communications, involvement and accountability - supporting accident prevention and compliance programs. This position is accountable for ensuring compliance with all health and safety, food safety and HACCP regulations and procedures

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • WCB, STD, and LTD claims management.
  • Provide on-site direct health care plans to the employees.
  • Treatment of occupational and non-occupational injuries/illnesses.
  • Participates in the Occupational Health maintenance program through various activities.
  • Participate in programs such as blood pressure clinics, flu clinics, first aid and CPR training.
  • Teaching and encouraging employees to practice healthy lifestyles.
  • Promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Referrals to employee assistance providers as necessary.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Registered Nurse, licensed practical nurse, or first responder.
  • Maintian a safe and clean working environment.
  • Educating employees about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
  • Experience in WCB, STD and LTD claims management an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with Union and Management.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Able to thrive in a Company committed to high standards of safety.
