The Role:
Maple Leaf Foods at 15350 Old Simcoe Rd., Port Perry, ON is accepting applications for entry-level General Cleaner position within our Prepared Meats Plant which specializes in baked good products such as quiche, meat pies, shepherd's pies, dips, and breakfast bites. 

Reason for vacancy: Existing Headcount.
 

Duties may include:

• Chemical awareness
• Dismantling, cleaning by prescribed methods and reassembling of production equipment
• General cleaning of all plant areas as required
• Assisting production operation in any way as required
• Maintain cleanliness of areas of responsibility
• Cross-training opportunities in other departments/job functions
• Adhere to Product, Food Safety Quality Assurance, and Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Hours of Work:

• Monday to Friday
• Rotating shifts (days/afternoons)
• Approximate shift times are:
• 7:30am -4:00pm
• 4:00pm - 12:30am
• Occasional overtime opportunities

• Reliable and dependable, able to be at work every day, on time.
• Ability to interact and share information with Team Members at all levels. 
• Actively participate in their work group.
• Desire to learn.
• Able to work in a fast paced and repetitive task environment.
• Physically fit and able to lift, push and/or pull weight of up to 23kg (50lbs).
• Be willing to adhere to all hygienic and food safety requirements in the plant.

Please note completion of a High School Diploma is not required to be successful in this position.
