The Opportunity:

As a member of the facility's FSQA team, the FSQA Coordinator supports the execution of Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs, including environmental monitoring, pre-operational monitoring, HACCP, GMP, and Hold and Release. The Coordinator monitors and analyzes program data, and supports the management of food safety and quality incidents through product tracing and cross-functional collaboration. This role also delivers training, supports equipment calibration and construction-related food safety activities, and provides backup support to FSQA Technicians. Working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, the Coordinator provides guidance on corrective actions and makes recommendations to FSQA leadership to support compliance and continuous improvement.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Support the execution of site environmental program (EMP).
  • Support the execution of site Pre-Operational Monitoring Program
  • Support the investigation and management of food safety and quality incidents, including tracing affected product and collaborating with cross-functional teams to coordinate containment, corrective actions and product disposition.
  • Coordinate and ensure proper execution of Hold and Release program.
  • Conduct CCP and/or prerequisite training and other Food Safety Training.
  • Maintain GMP Training presentations and CCP presentations.
  • Execute NCR's.
  • Investigate customer and consumer complaints.
  • Support and/or deliver FSQA training.                                              
  • Assist with construction activities and planning of environmental monitoring.
  • Support and/or coordinate equipment calibrations (MDs, thermometers, datatracers, etc.).
  • Participate in meetings and projects as required.
  • Provide back up support to FSQA Technician.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • University degree or college diploma preferably in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science or a related discipline.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a technical role at a food manufacturing facility.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and provide recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Superior systems skills (including MS Office).
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and teach others.
  • Proven alignment to the Maple Leaf Leadership Values.
