Position Summary
The Assistant Supervisor, Production, is responsible for communicating day-to-day direction to the department employees, and for providing coverage when required for the Supervisors. This is a great opportunity for the right individual to take a next step in their career towards a Supervisory role.
Responsibilities:
- Providing day-to-day directions, coaching, and counseling to department employees.
- Serving as back-up for Production Supervisors as required (e.g., during vacations, illness, or vacancies). While acting as back-up, assume all Production Supervisor duties and responsibilities, including employee discipline.
- Ensuring proper and adequate training of production team members on plant Health and Safety, GMP, Food Safety and Quality, and Sanitation policies and monitoring compliance.
- Conducting performance evaluations for department employees.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain smooth shift operations.
- Maintaining effective communication with internal and external suppliers and customers and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Communicating effectively with Production Supervisors and the Production Manager, identifying and executing improvement opportunities.
- This position will primarily support the afternoon shift; however, the successful candidate must be flexible and available to cover the day shift when Production Supervisors are on vacation or otherwise absent. As part of the onboarding and training process, the successful candidate will also spend several weeks to a couple of months on the day shift to gain a thorough understanding of the operation.
- Monitoring daily performance and operational efficiencies.
- Performing all other duties as assigned by Management.

Essential Qualifications
- Secondary Education
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to reliably attend scheduled shifts at the Bradford location
- Ability to stand and work on the production floor for extended periods
- Ability to wear required PPE in a food manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership ability
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Related department experience (direct or indirect i.e. shipping, reports, etc.)
- Computer skills
- Flexible schedule
