Legacy Seeds, based in Scandinavia, Wisconsin is an alfalfa breeding and production company who markets alfalfa seed genetics throughout North America, and China. Our production facilities are based in Homedale, Idaho. Legacy Seeds is a company within Legacy Agripartners. Many of our sales are through two-step distribution. We are looking for a results-driven salesperson that is independent and self-motivated to assist our current distributors and to find new accounts. This person reports to the Alfalfa Business Manager and works with fellow sales agents and alfalfa breeders to help determine products that can be marketed to various accounts. This person will also work closely with operations in Idaho to assure proper bagging, delivery locations and times, and placing orders. The ideal candidate will have depth of knowledge of alfalfa agronomics. Some knowledge of dairy nutrition will be helpful, additional training will be available.
The territory will include the Mid-Atlantic, New England, and the mid Southern Atlantic states.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Support current customers in your territory.
- Identify and secure new seed accounts.
- Maximize sales and gross profit potential for each account within your sales territory.
- Provide product training, education, and motivation for our distributors.
- Form strong relationships with Alfalfa Team and fellow sales agents to ensure a unified approach on alfalfa matters.
- Take an active role in updating literature with current data.
- Work with our marketing department to develop content for social media and other advertising outlets.
- Conduct alfalfa training meetings with our distributors and their dealers.
- Help management evaluate and select products for the continued improvement in customer’s offerings.
- Represent Legacy Seeds at appropriate trade shows and meetings.
- Act as the company’s liaison with various trade groups and industry associations.
- Provide agronomic troubleshooting when needed.
- Communicate new ideas and opportunities to management.
- 1-3 nights per week of overnight travel or as needed to cover the territory.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BS degree or greater in agriculturally related field
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Proven experience in agronomy and relevant college degree or certification
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to customers’ needs
- Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
- Positive attitude with a passion for agriculture
- Possess a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain
- Ability to travel 1-3 nights per week
