Position Details:

  • Competitive annual salary with incentive bonuses
  • Full-time: Exempt
  • Location: On site in Great Bend, Kansas
  • Schedule:  Monday-Friday 7:30-5:30, Weekends as need


Summary: 

The Service manager will provide leadership and accountability for the service department, and the performance of service operations.  Responsible for financial and operational results for the department, adhering to company values and policies, and promoting satisfaction of all stakeholders including employees and customers.

Essential Functions:  

  • Ensure all company values are adhered to and promoted.
  • Achieve the objectives for the service department: revenue, margin and expenses.
  • Manage operational objectives for the department: work in process, warranty, training, and efficiency objectives.
  • Appropriately staff and schedule personnel for the most efficient and safe performance of the department and ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner, including trucking operations.
  • Manage, motivate and engage all service personnel in their individual performance, developmental plans, efficiency targets and good work habits.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate with all location personnel, particularly technicians, service writers, sales representatives, parts personnel.
  • Promote KanEquip Service to the local market and stay up to date with education of new products. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, uphold all corporate policies and procedures and continually improve and learn in ways that strengthen our performance and expand opportunities.  

Competencies:

  • Thorough knowledge of various agriculture and construction equipment.
  • Ability to lead professionally, develop and motivate others.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in relation to heavy equipment.
  • Effective communication, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills with customers and employees.
  • Ability to work extended hours during weekdays and weekends.
  • Operating knowledge of an invoicing business system and customer relations management systems.
  • Ability to travel to company meetings and training. Acceptable motor vehicle status with current driver's license and ability to operate motor vehicles.  

Education and Experience:

  • Vocational Education-preferably in Agriculture or Construction Equipment
  • 5 + years of experience in agriculture or construction equipment repair 
  • Experience in managing service or diesel technicians
