We currently have a Training Manager position available at our Food Group Plant in Othello, WA. Located in Washington's beautiful Columbia Basin, Othello is surrounded by scenic parks and wildlife.
SUMMARY Designs and develops training and educational programs in connection with on-the-job training, skill development, workplace culture change, and management development. Conducts on-site training, facilitates group training programs, and works with outside consultants and vendors to coordinate training. Evaluates effectiveness of programs and maintains records of training activities and employee progress.
RESPONSIBILITIESEnsures that training plans and records for the facility are properly maintained.Works with, manages, and facilitates the use of outside vendors when outsourcing of training is necessary.Responsible for carrying out established technical training programs. Ensures that the implementation of training programs meet food safety, facility and Division goals. Ensures compliance with Human Resource programs, policies, procedures, and labor agreement when developing and implementing training. Training Specialist Level 1 & 2 tracks records, Level 3 typically audits the training records of on the job training.Backup support for HR Generalist if requested, requires a knowledge of where to locate benefit information, who to contact with questions, facilitate interviews, etc.Administers facility Structured Job Training process: includes maintaining record of trainee progress, ensuring receipt of employee training evaluations, measuring training effectiveness and providing training metrics to management. Counsels managers and supervisors on SJT procedures. A Training Specialist 3 would be responsible for overseeing the integrity of the program as well as assisting managers in understanding the training program and their role in it.Conducts new hire orientation: Creating New Employee Orientation materials, Facilitating Orientations, Ensuring all paperwork is returned to proper departments (Benefits, Records, HR, etc.), Providing a review of benefits , vacation, policies, etc., company orientation, and Overview of Structured Job Training Process.
REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree from 4 year college or universityTwo plus years related experience and/or training in training aspects such as: Administrative, Delivery, Design, Development and Implementation.Good understanding of training approaches and techniques, usually gained through previous experience presenting or implementing established technical training programs. Thorough understanding of Adult Learning Theory, On the Job Training Methodologies, Mentoring/Coaching best practices, Training systems and programs, etc. Usually reports to Plant HR management. Certificates: Training certificate from nationally recognized association is preferred.
