Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC, a national agricultural supply company, has an immediate opening for an Applicator at our Medina, NY location. This position correctly applies fertilizer and crop protection chemistries to labeled crops from recommendations made by agronomists or field staff.  Operates all application equipment and performs maintenance on that equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Seasonal:

Must be conscious of safety issues to people, property, traffic and the environment.
Ensures the wearing of proper protection equipment.
Correctly mixes prescribed products for application.
Maintains accurate records on applied acres and assists with reporting.
Understands and follows regulatory requirements including but not limited to the product label.
Performs maintenance and calibration on application equipment.
Directs nurse drivers for operational efficiency.
Understands and implements basic tenants of customer service.
Be willing to use technology to improve efficiency and/or customer expectations.
Cross train with other Helena employees.

Off-Season:

Attends applicator equipment workshops.
Maintains application license.
Performs maintenance on other equipment, fixed facilities and grounds.
May be asked to pull soil samples, mix fertilizer and/or deliver product.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Reliable and regular attendance is expected.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  High school diploma and experience in operating large equipment. 

 OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: 

Mechanically inclined.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Agricultural background.

Basic knowledge of agricultural products, crops and pests.

CDL and pesticide license are a bonus.

Good driving record.

Ability to read field maps.

Professional competence to safety.

Ability to work without direct supervision.
