Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for an experienced Ranch Hand for a well-established cattle operation in Montana. This is a full-time, year-round position with the primary focus on cattle care and livestock responsibilities, along with hay production, irrigation, equipment operation, and general ranch maintenance.

The employer is looking for a dependable, self-motivated individual who enjoys working with cattle, takes pride in their work, and is willing to pitch in wherever needed throughout the operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous cattle and ranch experience preferred
• Experience with feeding, calving, and moving cattle
• Good livestock handling skills and ability to work cattle safely
• Hay production experience preferred
• Experience operating tractors and hay equipment
• Irrigation experience helpful
• Basic mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine maintenance and minor equipment repairs
• Experience with fencing and general ranch maintenance
• Ability to safely operate trucks, ATVs, and other ranch equipment
• Comfortable performing physical labor and working outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperature extremes
• Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently as well as with others
• Self-motivated with a willingness to assist wherever needed
• Must take good care of livestock, equipment, facilities, and employer property
• Must be willing to participate in employer required drug testing

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Feed and care for cattle
• Assist with calving and general cattle care
• Move and handle cattle as needed
• Monitor livestock and assist with day-to-day herd needs
• Assist with hay production
• Operate tractors, hay equipment, and other ranch machinery
• Assist with irrigation of hay ground
• Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment and machinery
• Maintain and repair fences, gates, corrals, and other ranch facilities
• Operate trucks and ATVs as needed throughout the operation
• Assist with general ranch upkeep and seasonal projects
• Assist with snow removal and winter maintenance as needed
• Perform other duties throughout the ranch as weather, season, and workload require

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• $42,000 annual salary
