Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a qualified Ranch/Farm Operations Assistant for a progressive family farming and ranching operation in Nebraska. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys both livestock and crop production and is looking for a long-term position with a quality home provided.

The employer is seeking a dependable, hardworking individual with practical cattle experience and a solid farm background. The successful candidate will assist with approximately 100 cows, including spring calving of approximately 50 cows and 50 heifers, while also helping with the day-to-day crop operation. Previous calving experience is strongly preferred, as the employer wants someone who understands cattle behavior and can work safely and confidently around livestock.

Crop responsibilities will include equipment operation, planting, hay production, harvest, general maintenance, equipment servicing, and other seasonal farm duties. The operation is looking for someone who is willing to help wherever needed and take pride in maintaining equipment, livestock, and facilities.

A very nice well-maintained three-bedroom home is provided with the position, making this an excellent opportunity for either a family or an individual seeking rural living. The home has recently been updated and is move-in ready.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with approximately 100 commercial and purebred cows.
• Help with spring calving of approximately 50 cows and 50 heifers.
• Daily livestock care, feeding, health observations, and general cattle handling.
• Equipment operation for planting, haying, harvest, and other seasonal fieldwork.
• Equipment maintenance and routine servicing.
• General farm, ranch, and property maintenance.
• Assist wherever needed throughout the operation.

Qualifications

• Previous cattle experience required.
• Calving experience strongly preferred.
• Experience operating modern farm equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently.
• Dependable, trustworthy, and safety conscious.
• Willing to perform a variety of farm and ranch responsibilities throughout the year.
