Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience
- 5+ years of production or operations management experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment
- Previous experience leading supervisors and developing production teams
- Strong knowledge of food safety, quality systems, OSHA, and environmental compliance
- Experience managing production schedules, operational performance, and plant budgets
- Continuous Improvement experience (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar) preferred
- Union manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills


Job Description:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing an established food processing company seeking a Superintendent for one of the world's largest food companies. This hands-on, day-shift leadership position is responsible for providing strategic operational oversight of a salt processing facility while ensuring excellence in employee safety, food safety, product quality, operational efficiency, and financial performance.

The Superintendent will supervise production supervisors and provide leadership for daily plant operations while ensuring compliance with all food safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements. This individual will establish operational priorities, oversee production activities, monitor quality standards, and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, productivity, reliability, and overall plant performance.

Additional responsibilities include managing capital and operating budgets, controlling operating expenses, supporting capital improvement projects, and ensuring production goals and customer specifications are consistently achieved. The Superintendent will also be responsible for developing employees through coaching, hiring, performance management, and accountability while fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment.
