QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong agricultural mechanical background with hands-on experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing farm equipment
• Experience with diesel and gas engines, tractors, trucks, pickups, and other agricultural equipment
• Heavy equipment experience beneficial
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, transmissions, and general mechanical repair
• Welding and fabrication skills preferred
• Must have a good set of personal tools and take pride in maintaining an organized, efficient shop
• Ability to diagnose problems, read service manuals, and complete repairs in a timely manner
• Willing and able to operate farm equipment and assist with crop production when needed
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to prioritize maintenance and repair needs

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a qualified Farm Mechanic for a large, progressive Colorado crop production operation. Employer is looking for a professional, hands-on mechanic with a strong agricultural mechanical background who can take responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment throughout the operation. This position will work on a wide variety of equipment, including tractors, farm machinery, trucks, pickups, small engines, and other equipment used throughout the farming operation. Individual should have strong mechanical aptitude and be comfortable diagnosing and repairing diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, transmissions, and other mechanical components. Welding and fabrication abilities are also beneficial.

Looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a good set of tools, keeps an organized work area, and understands the importance of preventative maintenance and having equipment field-ready when needed. During the off-season, this person will help plan and prioritize equipment maintenance and repairs to ensure machinery is ready ahead of planting and harvest. This is not a position where someone will spend every day inside the shop. When mechanical work allows, the Farm Mechanic will assist throughout the farming operation, including operating crop production equipment, helping with seasonal fieldwork, and assisting with general maintenance and upkeep of the farm. This provides a good variety of responsibilities and an opportunity to get outside the shop and be involved in the overall operation.
