Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a qualified Farm Mechanic / Maintenance Mechanic for a progressive Florida farm operation. This is a full-time, year-round position with a expanding specialty crop operation. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, solid farm equipment repair experience, and the ability to work independently in both the shop and the field.

This person will be responsible for helping keep tractors, harvesters, trailers, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery operating efficiently throughout the year. Primary Responsibilities

The Farm Mechanic / Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing farm equipment and assisting with overall equipment readiness.

Responsibilities include:

• Repair and maintain tractors, harvesters, trailers, implements, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery
• Diagnose mechanical issues and complete timely repairs
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime during busy seasons
• Handle field breakdowns and emergency repairs as needed
• Maintain harvest equipment and support equipment during peak crop seasons
• Assist with center pivot irrigation maintenance and repairs
• Perform basic welding, fabrication, and general shop repair work
• Help organize tools, parts, and shop supplies
• Keep equipment serviced, safe, and field-ready
• Communicate with management regarding needed parts, repairs, and equipment concerns
• Assist with general farm duties when needed, especially during busy field and harvest periods

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience repairing and maintaining farm equipment
• Strong mechanical ability with tractors, harvesters, implements, trailers, and general farm machinery
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues independently
• Welding and fabrication ability preferred
• Experience with irrigation equipment, especially center pivots, is a plus
• Ability to work independently and stay productive without constant supervision
• Willingness to assist with field operations when needed
• Good communication skills
• Dependable, organized, and safety-minded work habits
• Valid driver's license preferred

Experience with specialty crops is helpful but not required. The employer is more concerned with finding a reliable, mechanically skilled individual who wants to be part of a growing farm operation.

Work Environment

This position will be based with a Florida farm operation growing specialty crops. The mechanic will work both in the shop and in the field, depending on the equipment needs and season.

The farm's busiest seasons include planting/transplanting, irrigation, crop maintenance, and harvest. Harvest can be intense and may require longer hours and weekend work depending on crop and weather conditions.

The winter months (December - March) are typically slower and may allow more flexibility for time off or vacation.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, hands-on farm mechanic who takes ownership of equipment maintenance and understands the importance of keeping machinery ready during critical farming windows.

This person should be able to see what needs done, prioritize repairs, communicate clearly, and take pride in helping the farm operate efficiently.
