Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a qualified Farm & Ranch Assistant for a diversified Nebraska producer. This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable, well-rounded individual who enjoys both crop production and cow/calf work and is looking for a stable, long-term position with the opportunity to take on increased responsibility. The operation consists of approximately 1,800 acres of irrigated corn and soybeans along with a 400-head cow/calf operation. The employer is looking for more than simply an extra set of hands. The right individual will become a dependable right-hand employee who can work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and step up when needed. The employer is flexible regarding the exact background and experience level of the individual. A solid general farm/ranch employee with the desire and ability to grow into additional responsibility will be considered, as will a more experienced candidate who is already capable of serving as a strong right-hand person.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with all phases of corn and soybean production, from field preparation and planting through harvest.
• Operate modern farm equipment, including John Deere and Case equipment and Kinze planters.
• Assist with irrigation throughout the growing season.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, servicing, and general repairs.
• Assist with all aspects of the 400-head cow/calf operation, including feeding, calving, herd health, processing, and general cattle care.
• Maintain fences, facilities, equipment, and other areas of the farm and ranch.
• Help prioritize daily work and handle responsibilities independently when the employer is unavailable.
• Work wherever needed to keep both the farming and livestock operations running efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Solid background in production row-crop farming and cow/calf operations.
• Experience operating larger farm equipment.
• Planting and harvest experience strongly preferred.
• Irrigation experience is a plus.
• Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs.
• Strong cattle-handling skills and a good understanding of cow/calf production.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working without constant supervision.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a small team.
• Responsible, trustworthy, and willing to take ownership of the position.
• Must be interested in a stable, long-term opportunity.
