JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a qualified Assistant Yard Maintenance Manager for a progressive Texas Panhandle feedyard operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys hands-on leadership and wants to play an important role in maintaining the infrastructure and daily functionality of a large commercial cattle feeding operation.

The Assistant Yard Maintenance Manager will work closely with the Yard Manager to coordinate daily yard maintenance activities, supervise maintenance personnel, and help ensure the feedyard's roads, pens, cattle handling facilities, water systems, and other infrastructure are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. This position combines hands-on equipment operation with leadership responsibilities and requires someone who is organized, mechanically inclined, and capable of prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with crew scheduling and work assignments, overseeing preventative maintenance programs, coordinating repairs to pens and cattle care facilities, maintaining roadways and drainage systems, monitoring shop maintenance activities, tracking maintenance expenses and environmental records, and helping enforce company safety policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of commercial feedyard operations, basic mechanical and construction knowledge, experience operating heavy equipment, and the ability to effectively lead and communicate with employees. An agriculture degree is preferred, although equivalent feedyard, maintenance, construction, or trade experience will also be considered.
