The 2026 Internship: Join us for a 12-week internship experience designed for technical/trade school students! You'll gain real world exposure to agricultural finance, learn technical processes, and contribute to meaningful projects that support Missouri's ag industry.

What We're Looking For:

  • Currently enrolled in or graduated from a technical or trade or school program pursuing an Associate degree or equivalent certification.
  • Majors in: Ag Business, General Business, Finance, and Technology.
  • GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Strong work ethic, hands-on experience, flexibility, and collaboration skills
  • Great communication skills and comfort in Microsoft Office tools, with the ability to learn new software.

This internship opportunity will be located in Jefferson City, Missouri.

This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Department: Marketplace Services

Reports To: Senior Vice President, Human Resources or Designee

This 12-Week Internship opportunity typically begins towards the end of May and will conclude the second week of August.

 

Job Functions

50%

Internship Program - Focused in one area (10-12 Weeks)

  • Learn the components of one department such as Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Credit, Loan Services, Information Services, or other department
  • Learn the components of the lending process
  • Learn credit fundamentals and credit philosophy
  • Learn the variety of risk management functions

Projects

  • Complete one or more projects identified by assigned department and by FCS that are hands-on in nature and designed to add value to the company.
  • Presentations to the senior leadership, mentors and other staff at the conclusion of the internship.

Communication

  • Work with several mentors within various areas of the Association.
  • Interact with FCS staff as a team member.

Marketing

  • Learn about customer relationships and marketing and contribute to FCS brand image as the leading agriculture financial institution committed to customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or graduated from a technical or trade school pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification.
  • Desired degree programs are agribusiness, general business, finance, accounting and technology degrees
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA

 

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • General knowledge of FCS Financial and the financial services industry
  • General knowledge of basic financial/accounting terms and applications
  • Skill in using Microsoft technologies including e-mail, word and spreadsheet processing
  • Verbal and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences
  • Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association's systems and data and clients' data
