The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) has unveiled a series of scholarships designed to foster education and career development within the dairy industry.
A total of $19,000 is available across seven scholarships for students either currently attending or planning to attend a college, university, technical school, or high school seniors preparing for such institutions in the United States.
The scholarships are split into three categories, each targeting different participants within the dairy sector.
The WCMA Myron P. “Mike” Dean Cheese Industry Student Scholarship offers two $3,000 scholarships available to WCMA dairy manufacturing, processing, or marketing member company employees or their children.
Last year, recipients included individuals from Renard’s Cheese and Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery.
Another category is the WCMA Cheese Industry Supplier Student Scholarship, also awarding three $3,000 scholarships. It is open to employees or their children from WCMA supplier member companies.
Last year's recipients came from diverse companies such as R.W. Baron Process Equipment, Novonesis, and HART Design & Manufacturing.
Brian Eggebrecht Student Scholarship supports students pursuing technical education in Wisconsin, commemorating the contributions of the late Brian Eggebrecht, a prominent figure in the dairy industry and a generous donor.
Two $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing technical certificates or diplomas potentially leading to dairy industry careers.
Applications for all scholarships are due by February 14, 2025, and can be completed through the FFA's website.
