Ohalo has named agricultural industry veteran Rob Dunlop as its new Vice President, Global Commercial, as the company continues expanding the global reach of its Boosted Breeding™ seed technologies. According to a press release from Ohalo Genetics, Inc. distributed by PR Newswire, Dunlop joins the company from Inari, where he served as Chief Commercial Officer, bringing more than 30 years of experience in plant breeding, agronomy, technology strategy, and commercial leadership.
In his new role, Dunlop will lead the development of agronomic support programs for growers using Ohalo’s Boosted seed products. He will also oversee commercial partnerships and distribution channels to help bring the company’s technologies to agricultural markets worldwide.
Ohalo’s Boosted Potato seed technology is designed to improve potato production by replacing traditional seed tubers with true potato seed. The company says the technology can reduce storage, transportation, labor, fuel, and disease-management costs while improving planting efficiency and increasing yields. Ohalo estimates that growers could achieve more than $2,000 in additional profit per acre through higher productivity and lower production expenses.
The company is also expanding its Boosted Breeding platform beyond potatoes to additional crops. As new varieties enter the market, Ohalo plans to strengthen agronomic services and industry partnerships to support adoption and field performance.
Before joining Ohalo, Dunlop led global commercial strategy for Inari’s seed portfolio and previously served as Vice President of North America Seed at Nutrien Ag Solutions. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Monsanto and Bayer, working across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the United States in breeding, technology strategy, agronomy, and sales.
