Media ArticleNine students from across Kansas have been awarded $1,000 Youth in Agriculture Scholarships to support their higher education and future careers in the agricultural industry. The scholarships are funded through the annual Kansas Livestock Foundation Club Calf Sale, which is held in conjunction with the Kansas Junior Livestock Show in Hutchinson. This year’s sale is scheduled for October 3 and continues to serve as a key fundraiser supporting opportunities for young people pursuing agricultural studies and careers.
Four scholarship recipients will attend Butler Community College this fall. They include Cole Dieball of Little River, Lakyn Huncovsky of Riley, Cami Miller of El Dorado, and Hayden Stubbs of Wallace.
Three scholarship winners will continue their education at Hutchinson Community College. The recipients are Kodi McComb of Pratt, Ella Neher of Pfeifer, and Ethan Petersilie of Rush Center.
The remaining scholarship recipients are attending other Kansas institutions. William Meinhardt of Onaga will enroll at Kansas State University, while Genayla Warnken of Manhattan is attending Cloud County Community College.
The Youth in Agriculture Scholarship program recognizes students who have shown dedication to agriculture, leadership, and personal development. Through proceeds generated by the KLF Club Calf Sale, the foundation continues to invest in young people who are preparing for careers in the agricultural industry.
By providing financial assistance for postsecondary education, the program helps support the next generation of agricultural professionals. The scholarships also encourage students to remain engaged in Kansas agriculture and contribute to the future success of the state's livestock and farming sectors.
