Media ArticleThe International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) and Alltech recognized the 2026 recipients of the Young Leaders in Agricultural Journalism Awards during the IFAJ Congress in Croatia. Since 2005, the program has supported emerging agricultural journalists and communicators under age 35 who demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to agricultural storytelling.
The program provides scholarships for young professionals to attend the IFAJ Congress and participate in leadership development activities. In 2026, 10 young journalists from Argentina, Canada, Germany, the United States, the Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden, Liberia, Ghana, and Kenya were selected for the honor.
Before the congress, participants attended a professional development workshop that included seminars, career guidance, industry discussions, and agricultural tours. They also had the opportunity to network with more than 200 agricultural journalists from around the world.
The Young Leaders program helps strengthen the next generation of agricultural communicators by providing leadership training, professional development, and global networking opportunities. The initiative aims to equip participants with the skills and industry connections needed to effectively share agriculture and food stories with diverse audiences.
Through their long-standing partnership, IFAJ and Alltech continue to invest in developing future leaders in agricultural journalism. The program encourages innovation, collaboration, and international engagement while supporting the continued growth of the profession worldwide.
