Cleanfarms has appointed Davin Johnson as Director of Western Canada, where he will lead agricultural recycling and stewardship initiatives while advancing sustainable waste management programs that support farmers across the region.

Cleanfarms has appointed Davin Johnson as its new Director of Western Canada, recognizing his extensive experience in agricultural recycling and stewardship programs across the region.

Johnson first worked with Cleanfarms in 2015 as a site supervisor for the Unwanted Pesticides and Livestock Medications (UPLM) collection program, supporting collection initiatives throughout Western Canada. He later helped establish the "Alberta Ag-Plastic. Recycle It!" pilot program before joining the organization full-time in 2020 as Alberta Program Advisor.

Since joining Cleanfarms, Johnson has led stewardship programs in Alberta and worked closely with farmers, municipalities, recyclers, industry partners, and government agencies to expand agricultural recycling initiatives across Western Canada. His efforts have focused on improving program accessibility and supporting the growth of sustainable waste management solutions for the agricultural sector.

In his new role, Johnson will oversee Cleanfarms' Western Canadian operations and continue advancing recycling and stewardship programs that help producers responsibly manage agricultural waste. His appointment reflects the organization's commitment to expanding environmental sustainability initiatives and supporting innovation within Canadian agriculture.

Shane Hedderson, Executive Director of Cleanfarms and former Director of Western Canada, highlighted Johnson's leadership and experience, noting his contributions to creating opportunities for Western Canadian farmers to participate in sustainable waste management programs.

Cleanfarms is a producer responsibility organization focused on recovering and recycling agricultural plastics, packaging, and related products. Supported by member companies from sectors including crop protection, seed, fertilizer, animal health, feed, peat moss, animal bedding, agricultural plastics, and maple tubing, the organization operates recycling and stewardship programs across Canada.

With team members located throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada, Cleanfarms continues to support Canadian farmers through programs designed to improve agricultural waste management and promote long-term environmental sustainability.
