AgCareers.com to host Social Media in the Workplace Webinar
April 10, 2013

Social media is here to stay!  HR Managers, Line Managers, Hiring Managers, HR personnel, Communications, Social Media and Marketing staff are invited to attend the upcoming Social Media in the Workplace webinar on Friday, May 10 at 10 a.m. E. Australia time.

Social Media has revolutionised the way the world connects and communicates including in the workplace. Rapid uptake of social media has meant that the lines between work and home have become less and less distinct. Many work colleagues are now Facebook “friends” and recruiters and HR professionals commonly review applicant’s online profiles. An additional headache for employers is that workplace disputes and issues can now originate and take place on social media platforms, as well as in real life.

This webinar will cover some of the challenges that face employers in the age of social media and in particular will cover issues such as:

  • blocking or banning social media – why this doesn’t work,
  • the importance of a social media policy – why every workplace needs one,
  • important considerations and inclusions when drafting a social media policy,
  • common social media challenges and some effective tips and solutions for managing them,
  • Australian legal case studies regarding social media in the workplace,
  • the importance of training, and
  • some tips on how to monitor social media.

Attendees will also receive a bonus template social media policy to assist them in drafting a policy that is suited to their organisation.

The webinar will be presented by Danica Leys.  She is an industrial relations practitioner with a strong background in the agricultural sector. Danica is a fully qualified lawyer and holds a Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New England.

Registration is only $99 (U.S.).  Click the following link for details and to register:  Social Media in the Workplace Webinar
