Job Description

Ready to take the next step in your poultry career?

Join an established and successful broiler business with over 32 years of poultry production experience in the heart of Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a modern broiler operation, combining traditional farming values with cutting-edge technology and sustainable farming practices.

You'll be managing a well-invested site featuring state-of-the-art biomass heating and solar energy systems, with the freedom and autonomy to run the farm as your own while being supported by a highly respected and progressive family business. In addition to the poultry enterprise, you'll also oversee the site's biomass heating system and manage a well-established caravan and motorhome storage business.

To support the successful candidate, a beautiful four-bedroom bungalow, which has recently undergone a major refurbishment, is included with the role.

As Farm Manager, you will be responsible for flock performance, welfare, site management, and achieving key production targets. This role would suit an experienced broiler professional who understands crop performance data and is passionate about delivering excellent results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of broiler production and daily farm operations
  • Monitor flock health, welfare, performance, and crop-related statistics
  • Conduct daily bird inspections and welfare assessments
  • Analyse production data to drive performance improvements
  • Maintain the highest standards of biosecurity, hygiene, and health & safety
  • Complete farm records, audits, and performance reporting accurately
  • Oversee site maintenance and ensure equipment is operating efficiently
  • Manage and maintain the biomass heating system serving the poultry operation
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of a small, secure caravan and motorhome storage facility with capacity for approximately 20 units
  • Work proactively to maximise bird performance and farm profitability

What We're Looking For

  • Proven broiler management experience is essential
  • Strong understanding of flock performance data and crop-related statistics
  • Excellent poultry husbandry and welfare knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the site
  • Experience operating or overseeing biomass heating systems would be advantageous
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • A proactive, practical, and hands-on approach
  • English written and spoken communication skills are essential
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Relevant agricultural qualification or equivalent practical experience preferred

What's In It For You?

  • Competitive salary package
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Recently refurbished 4-bedroom detached bungalow
  • Opportunity to manage your own operation with genuine autonomy
  • Varied role incorporating broiler production, biomass management, and storage facility oversight
  • Modern farm equipped with biomass and solar technology
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Long-term career prospects within a well-established and respected poultry business
  • The chance to live and work in the stunning countryside of Mid Wales
