Job Description
Too often in on-farm sales, you're responsible for winning new business, only to see the relationship handed on to an account manager once the deal is done. It's different here, you'll own the first conversation through to the long-term partnership. You're not just an order taker.
This is a consultative on-farm sales role working primarily with bovine genetics, but you'll also be cross-selling related herd improvement products and services from an establish brand.
You'll build new business, expand market presence and develop accounts with dairy producers across your region, as well as representing this innovative business out in the industry.
Another thing about this company is that you'll be trusted to do your job. There are targets, structure and accountability, but also the freedom to manage your territory like a professional.
Success will come from understanding the individual goals of each farming business and helping them achieve them through genetics, breeding strategy and herd improvement. Customers look to you for advice, not just quotations.
What the role involves:
Working across an established UK territory, you'll play a key role in both customer success and business growth.
Developing and delivering a territory growth plan aligned to sales and margin objectives.
Building strong relationships with dairy producers and industry stakeholders.
Identifying and securing new business opportunities while growing existing accounts.
Advising on genetics strategies, breeding programmes, reproductive performance and herd improvement initiatives.
Delivering customer reviews and tailored recommendations based on herd and business objectives.
Monitoring sales performance, forecasting activity and collaborating with colleagues to ensure excellent customer outcomes.
Representing the business at industry events and engaging with the wider dairy sector.
What We're Looking For:
Previous commercial experience in bovine genetics.
Deep understanding of the dairy industry.
Well-rounded knowledge of herd management systems.
Strong relationship management and communication skills.
A results-focused approach with the ability to identify win-win commercial solutions.
Willingness to undertake regular travel within the territory.
What's On Offer?
Base salary between £35-50,000 per annum (depending entirely on individual skills/experience/fit)
Clear commission structure
Company car (no tracker fitted)
