We are Hiring a Legal Counsel for Regulatory Affairs matters! 

This position is responsible to provide pro-active, business focused and result oriented legal advice on regulatory matters related to the business activities of Corteva Agriscience in Europe.  

Key responsibilities 

Your Challenge: 

  • Provide strategic regulatory legal advice related to the operations of Corteva Agriscience in Europe. 
  • Monitor, interpret and support shaping of regulatory and policy developments at EU and/or country level affecting the operations of Corteva Agriscience in Europe and beyond. 
  • Identify and interpret legal precedents and their impact on our operations. 
  • Partner with colleagues from Regulatory Affairs and other relevant functions on product registration issues and product advocacy matters, bringing strong legal expertise to the table. 
  • Identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, and reputational risks around regulatory compliance. 
  • Oversee and manage disputes and litigation regarding regulatory matters. 
  • Provide counsel on data sharing, data protection and task force agreements. 

Location: 

  • Location is Brussels, Belgium. Other locations of Corteva Agriscience in Germany, France or The Netherlands may be considered, if candidate has a strong preference for one of those.

Qualifications


To Grow What Matters, You Will Need  

  • Law Degree – German or French Law Degree preferred, but a Law Degree from another EU Member State will be considered as well, if candidate has working experience on regulatory matters in Germany and France. 
  • Admission to the bar will be an advantage.  
  • Minimum of 10 - 12 years’ post qualification experience in a reputable law firm on regulatory matters regarding life science and/or chemical products in the European Union. Additional experience as in-house regulatory lawyer in a highly regulated industry will be a plus. 
  • Proven track record on managing complex regulatory matters in Europe ensuring Freedom to Operate. 
  • International, cross-jurisdictional experience and exposure and ability to work well within international teams.   

Skills: 

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across all levels of global, regional and multi-functional teams. 
  • Ability to quickly analyze complex legal and regulatory issues, with high level of analytical and conceptual competencies to structure business proposals and translate them into workable legal framework. 
  • Communicating with Impact: you communicate in a clear, succinct and compelling manner to a variety of audiences. 
  • Legal and Business Acumen: you understand the priorities and goals of the business as well as industry goals and provide expert knowledge and advice to advance the agendas. 
  • Proven ability to handle multiple complex tasks in an international environment. 
  • Fluency in English, German and/or French (oral and written).  
  • Affinity to research and science. 
  • Strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills.
