Corteva Agriscience has an exciting job opportunity for a HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Pittsburg, CA crop protection production facility. This role offers lots of variety and interaction opportunities with various key stakeholders. In this role, your ultimate goal will be to effectively perform routine maintenance, installation, integration of various types of HVAC equipment and make repairs to efficiently maintain a facility that operates offices, laboratories, and manufacturing processes/equipment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the year. Responsibilities What You Will Do:
How will you help us grow? It matters to us, and it matters to you!

  • Own HVAC equipment & facilities maintenance troubleshooting responsibilities to resolve field problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Own HVAC equipment & facilities preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance work and operations.
  • Troubleshoot refrigeration units including air and water cooled chillers, commercial package and split systems, building automation, refrigerators, ice machines, freezers to identify concerns and determine corrective action.
  • Develop and update operating discipline for all HVAC work.
  • Provide technical support for Planners in developing job packages for HVAC work.
  • Provide technical support for large capital projects on the proper design of HVAC equipment.
  • Generate reliability improvement ideas and work with other team members to maintain the equipment reliability of the facility.
  • Understand requirements for legal compliance to applicable universal refrigeration regulations.
  • Understand and utilize the safe work processes including safe work permits, energy isolation, confined space, and line and equipment opening.
  • Coordinate work with other trades.
  • Utilize SAP to manage and track maintenance Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) and repairs across site.

  • Someone who is passionate about instrumentation and electrical problem-solving!
  • You are a self-starter who can identify, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks!
  • Busy workday? No problem! You have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
  • You work well with people and can inspire others and lead them through influence.
  • You also have 2+ years of HVAC repair and troubleshooting experience.
  • You have 5+ years of facility, manufacturing or power plant maintenance experience.
  • You have the ability to interpret technical vendor literature (i.e. Installation, Maintenance and Operation manuals) and transfer this information independently and effectively to critical work processes.
  • You have experience with Building Management Systems for control and monitoring of facility and lab equipment.
  • You are familiar with and can use standard Microsoft applications - Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • You have a High School Diploma/GED or higher.
  • You understand that we are here to serve our customers and doing so well is critical to our site viability! Due to this, you are willing and able to work a day shift schedule with overtime as well as an on-call rotation schedule. This includes being willing and able to take a call during the week and on some weekends.
  • You always are willing to help out and physical work isnt a problem for youPassing by a team member struggling to lift something? Safety is your top priority and you are willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations to help your colleague and/or perform necessary job tasks in addition to wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)!
  • You have strong interpersonal skills, including good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferences It Would Be Great If You Have: 

  • Refinery experience!
  • 5-10  years of relevant HVAC repair and troubleshooting experience.
  • Military Maintenance courses and training.
  • An Associates or Technical Degree in Industrial Maintenance from an accredited Educational Institute (College, School) and/or 4+ years military experience.
  • SAP experience.
