CortevaAgriscience offers various internship programs which offer a wide variety ofexperiences within the Corteva business. The Professional Internship Program isdesigned to provide college Sophomores and Juniors with the necessaryknowledge, experience and skills to prepare for a potential career with CortevaAgriscience.
The Professional Intern Field Operations will support safe, effective andefficient management of seed production processes. Field Operations Internswill assist the Plant Agronomist in the production of seed. They will beresponsible for scouting and Integrated Pest Management duties including butnot limited to: supply research studies, economic injury threshold evaluation,weed and disease identification, and crop progress reporting. The intern willplay an important role in raising a quality and high yielding seed crop. Theintern will be exposed to a number of duties performed by a Corteva AgriscienceProduction Agronomist in the day to day activities of seed production. Theintern will be assigned a special project by the Agronomist.
The 2021 position locations will include seed production facilities in the Midwest.Geographic flexibility is necessary. Position start dates will be May 2021.
The preferred candidate will be an in-coming Senior pursuing a 4 year degree inagronomy, agriculture business, agriculture studies, agricultural systemstechnology, or related field with a broad interest in the agriculture industry.Previous internships in production agriculture or relevant experiencepreferred. Strong communication skills (oral and written), teamwork andleadership skills, strong computer and analytical skills are required.Potential candidates should possess: the ability to work effectively within ateam environment; lead and influence teams/projects; and the ability work inand adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.
Other requirements include: the ability to work in crop production fields, havelimited exposure to chemicals, dust, noise, temperature variation; moderatelifting 50-100 lbs, ability to work long days during peak seasons. Must also bewilling to travel between production locations and company headquarters asneeded.
Part of the Professional Internship Program is completing an assigned projectand presenting the results to a group of business leaders in Johnston, Iowa.Professional development opportunities include exposure to other parts of theseed production business.
