Description
Lead the APAC Government and Industry Affairs team to develop supportive action plans across the region. Develop engagement plans on issues that impact on policy related to Corteva's business (products, processes, and markets): regulatory environment and approvals, political initiatives, consumer and customer acceptance of innovation, and magnify Corteva's reach with key officials and stakeholder groups by building strong and effective relationships, leveraging Senior leaders and Commercial and functional leadership. Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Business: Deliver agreed regulatory and political outcomes that support the business plans, including product authorizations, technologies, trade challenges, and country-specific issues, in the short-medium term. Ability to influence future policy developments.
- Relationships: Demonstrate strong support for Corteva positions from decision-makers and influencers in key countries across the region
- People: Manage regional team to deliver their objectives, develop their skills including leadership/succession.
Key areas of responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with decision-makers and influencers across the region, both directly and for key Corteva leaders.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams including Executive Leadership Team to agree Public Affairs objectives, provide support, and coordinate
- Develop strong third-party advocates and ensure our current and future product-related arguments address key local political objectives: sustainability, food security, water, rural economies.
Skills and Core Competencies:
- Thorough understanding of current developments in key policy areas, and how they impact on Corteva business in APAC and globally, and ability to share resulting strategic insights.
- Ability to develop and implement campaigns to obtain political support, including developing and motivating internal colleagues, associations, and third-party influencers.
- Ability to make trusted relationships with a diverse set of individuals: listening, cultural, linguistic, and social skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across the company and with external partners.
- Ability to manage and develop team competencies and individual talent.
Qualifications
- Experience working with or in government, politics or relevant regulatory agencies and/or have expertise in a some key APAC political environment and processes (ie: India, ASEAN etc.. )
- Passion for food and agriculture issues, including the policy challenges
- Ability to grasp complex technical and policy issues and communicate key messages for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced degree preferred
