Historically, produce was grown locally. While generally sustainable, availability was highly seasonable and susceptible to climate conditions, disease and pests. Diversity of produce was minimal, creating nutritional gaps in our diets. Today, the global produce industry provides an enormous range of options throughout the year. Unfortunately, our food is bred to withstand traveling long distances from source to consumer, and is usually harvested prematurely, diminishing flavor and nutritional value. Food security is poor and unsustainable practices are common. Our mission at Sensei Ag is to use the transformative power of data to solve the global gaps and inconsistencies in nutrition, food safety and food security. By locating our greenhouses closer to where people live, we can build a better, more stable food supply chain capable of providing the best possible produce across the world.
