Job Purpose and Impact
The Process Engineer will focus on optimizing our interconnected components of a manufacturing system in the Germ Prep/Extraction department. We seek a professional who will develop and apply engineering standards and procedures, providing advice on issues within the engineering field. In this role, you will help coordinate plant location, personnel workflow and ergonomics, materials logistics, production process sequence and equipment layouts.
Key Accountabilities
Support manufacturing and facilities engineers in facility planning, design, and project execution.
Develop facility and infrastructure designs using industry best practices, including cost estimates, schedules, construction oversight, and maintenance planning.
Conduct cost, inventory, production, and human factors analyses to identify and implement operational improvements.
Optimize utilization of production assets, facilities, and workforce resources.
Independently resolve moderately complex engineering issues and escalate higher-risk or specialized concerns as needed.
Serve as a Process Safety Management (PSM) champion, leading Management of Change (MOC), risk assessments, PHA/PRA activities, Root Cause Analyses (RCA), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and gap closure initiatives.
Investigate equipment, system, and component failures and develop effective engineering solutions.
Design, improve, and validate manufacturing processes, equipment, and instrumentation to enhance product quality and operational performance.
Identify opportunities to improve process control, yield, quality, throughput, and energy efficiency; develop and implement technical solutions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of two years of related work experience
Other minimum qualifications may apply.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in High Hazard Processes
Experience with operations data and design programs and applications
Six sigma yellow belt certification and the desire to get a green belt certification
Experience and skills leading moderately complex projects
Strong data analysis capabilities including continuous improvement experience or certifications
