Precision agriculture specialists are sought-after advisers and problem-solvers who use advanced technology to inform producers, often helping improve margins, yields, environmental impact, sustainability, and efficiency. They frequently use drones, sensors, GPS, soil sampling, and other innovative technologies to gather data, make decisions, and provide recommendations.
Information Technology (IT) Application (App) Developer
App developers can be self-employed or work at government agencies, nonprofits and agricultural companies, creating apps to benefit consumers, staff, producers and others. The role often involves design, testing, troubleshooting, and monitoring, and usually requires a bachelor’s degree in information technology.
