11 Ag Instagrammers to Follow This Year

In the first week of the new year I spent some time de-cluttering my social media feeds. While I did unfollow several Instagrams that no longer resonate with me, I was reminded of what individuals and organizations are sharing really great content!

1. Rural Revival ruralrevivalco
“Bringing America back to the country, one idea at a time.”
Rural Revival is fairly new to the scene and their Instagram page highlights rural communities and the people committed to ensuring their vibrancy. You’ll travel across the nation and meet rural changemakers who are making an impact.

2. Common Ground Commongroundnow
“Conversations about farming and food.”
Common Ground encourages going straight to the source–farmers and ranchers–with your food and agriculture questions. This Instagram not only shares views from the farm, but also food facts that are easy to share with others.

3. MN Millennial Farmer mnmillennialfarmer
“Family owned, 5th generation farmer in west-central Minnesota.”
The good, bad and ugly of farming. This farm owner shares it all with a dose of humor and humility.

4. Tyson Durfey tysondurfey
“2016 World Champion, 11 time NFR qualifier, 3 time Canadian Champion.”
World Champion Tie-Down Roper Tyson Durfey is a Missouri native, Texas transplant and fierce competitor. Tyson’s posts deliver inspiration and motivation for personal growth.

5. Female Farmer Project rootedinthevalley
“Women’s Work: The untold story of America’s female farmers.”
Beautiful photography, podcast features (Forbes recently named the Female Farmer Project as one of the top 10 podcasts in food), and amazing recipes. This is one of my favorite pages!

6. RealPigFarming realpigfarming
“#RealPigFarming unites pig farmers, academics, youth, veterinarians and allied industry members to discuss how modern pork production really works.”
I didn’t grow up around the swine industry and this page has taught me a lot about modern production practices, what a contract farmer really is and how the industry is committed to helping those in need with their #HamsAcrossAmerica campaign.

7. My Day in Texas Ag mydayintexasag
“Sharing the stories of Texas Agriculturalists one post at a time.”
Growing barley for distilling, managing sunflower fields, and cabbage harvest are just some of the more unique practices featured by My Day in Texas Ag.

8. MWAF204 mwaf204
“Manitoban group to inspire, connect and encourage women working in agriculture and food related careers.”
This Canadian women based page is full of relevant content regardless of your location or gender.

9. Land O’ Lakes landolakesktchn
“Bringing inspiration to cooks and bakers who share our passion for good food.”
Pictures and recipes from the farmer-owned Land O’ Lakes test kitchen! These recipes are typically straight forward and always delicious.

10. Kirkland Feedyard kirklandbeef
“Kirkland Feed yard is a cattle feeding operation in the TX Panhandle. We are proud to provide healthy, nutritious beef for consumers.”
Like most of agriculture, feedyards run 365 days a year. This page features the horses, cowboys and cowgirls and of course the cattle that call this feed yard home.

11. AgCareers.com agcareers
“We feed the world with talent. Providing global talent solutions for the agriculture and food industries.”
Of course, this page would make the list! AgCareers.com Instagram feed features insights from our market research, highlights job seeker resources and follows our staff as they travel across North America promoting careers in agriculture.
