Sr External Manufacturing Prod Scheduler 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior External Manufacturing Production Scheduler, are to: 

 

  • Plan, create, execute, and monitor 12 month and near-term production schedules to balance demand, supply and inventory;
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure smooth flow of materials and monitor the production schedules, business conditions and economic cycles to anticipate change in order flow and/or material availability;
  • Create, adjust, and monitor process orders, this position is also responsible for the monthly accounting closing process;
  • Be responsible for raw materials ordering as well as inventory management, safety stock levels for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods;
  • Co-operate with Master Data Specialists to ensure that key master data is up to date, e.g. material master, and bill of material;
  • Track, manage, and drive production Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) towards manufacturing excellence while meeting production demands and ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction;
  • Support improvement projects related to safety, yields, capacity, quality, or cost improvement;
  • Implement production strategies defined by the business demand requirements that efficiently maximize plant operations;
  • Coordinate production activities with other plants at the Luling site and with the external manufacturing facilities managed by Luling Supply Chain team, including production, downtime and turnarounds;
  • Support regional Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process by providing mid-term purchasing and manufacturing plans considering storage capacity, manufacturing capacity and other constraints;
  • Co-operate with various local and global functions to make sure that Luling Planning and Logistics is up to date on current and future business developments and processes;
  • Participate on the development plans of less experienced team members by mentoring, coaching, and providing training.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or related field with at least seven years of experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics or Planning;
  • Capability to act in solving problems using analytical approaches and deal effectively with changing situations and maintain composure in pressure or conflict situation;
  • Apply knowledge, evaluate, and select alternatives based on realistic limits and different perspectives;
  • Understands the full implication of actions before proceeding;
  • Consistently motivate self, take calculated risks, make timely decisions, improve results, persist despite opposition and obstacles;
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively and promptly with all levels of the organization, supporting department and use active listening skills;
  • Proficiency with SAP modules such as Production and Planning, MES and MS Office Applications.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • ASCM certification.
