Senior Analyst for Public Affairs Science & Sustainabililty, Crop Science 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Analyst for Public Affairs Science & Sustainability, Crop Science, are to: 

 

  • Build and lead cross-functional teams to problem-solve critical areas necessary for Public Affairs Science & Sustainability (PASS), Bayer Crop Science (BCS) strategic planning and execution, supporting leaders to build quantitative and qualitative evidence-based strategies;
  • Explore new sustainable business models for complementing BCS long-term corporate strategy by structuring ambiguous and complex problems in ways that support evidence-based cross-functional decisions for action and investment;
  • Use quantitative and qualitative methods to frame options and forecast business scenarios from broad synthesis of information (requiring strengths in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, business model analysis, and other skills);
  • Present business proposals to stakeholders within BCS and the Bayer group and obtain acceptance of decision boards and senior management level;
  • Drive competitive analysis to ensure BCS remains competitive particularly in sustainable business models;
  • Lead and steer cross-functional projects;
  • Support and guide implementation of such projects in respective functions/countries;
  • Act as counterpart to involved consultants;
  • Be the BCS PASS nucleus of a think tank with the aim to identify new growth opportunities, broad spectrum from new business models (e.g. digital, sustainable business, and other disruptive business models) to new innovative technologies;
  • Participate and potentially lead selected Straco projects;
  • Support Straco process and sustainability contributions to Straco preparation;
  • Train, guide and develop staff (e.g. trainee, MIBS, Master and Ph.D. students).

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business or similar field and 5+ years' of relevant experience OR Master’s degree in business administration or similar field and 2+ years' of relevant experience;

  • Solid analytical skills, building business cases, creating financial models, performing valuation analysis, forecasting, as well as solid project management skills;
  • Exceptional strong problem-solving skills by breaking problems down through quantitative thinking and analysis;
  • Strong qualitative research methodologies including market research and business intelligence;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization;
  • Synthesize complex information into recommendations and implications using both qualitative and quantitative methods;
  • Work under time pressure with speed and accuracy to meet stakeholders expectations;
  • Advanced working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA);
  • 2 years of management consulting experience.

 

 

**This position can be filled in St. Louis, MO, US; candidates will be considered for Residence-based US opportunities, or the location of: Monheim, Germany.**
