Process Control Systems Engineer 




The primary responsibilities of this role, Process Control Systems Engineer, are to: 


  • Have the ability to conceive, design, install, and administer medium-large scale process control systems and networks;
  • Partner with IT support teams to coordinate, deploy, and document Windows Server OS builds for process control use in a virtual machine (VM) environment;
  • Grow and design company core logic for process control networks, servers, and applications;
  • Develop documentation for standards and strategic initiatives across sites/crops;
  • Collaborate with automation engineers to ensure strong network alignment on approaches and standardized systems;
  • Become expert with process control system applications and networks to provide technical support across sites/crops;
  • Partner with Digital Manufacturing technical experts to implement and manage strategic solutions that comply with Bayer cybersecurity requirements for process control networks;
  • Lead technical committees focused within process control infrastructure and security;
  • Establish software licensing, updating, and patching schedules for process control applications;
  • Administer network domain user accounts and groups, including password management.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in IT Systems Administration, Computer Sciences, Automation Engineering or comparable Technology with at least six years of experience, or 10 years of practical experience such as experience derived from Regional Automation Engineering role at Bayer production plants;
  • Good analytical and problem solving (decision making) skills;
  • Collaborative team player capable of working well with people across all hierarchies internally and externally, including leadership;
  • Good organizational and presentation skills at a leadership level;
  • Good interpersonal skills such as communication, listening, verbal and assertiveness with ability to influence;
  • Results driven with ability to manage ambiguity;
  • Travel Requirement – Average 25% is expected within the region and limited Globally.


This position may be located at multiple Bayer Crop science locations in the Midwest.
