YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Mechanical  Engineer, are to: 

  • Provides support for the maintenance of area process operations; identifies, evaluates, specifies, and selects process equipment to ensure the reliable and safe operation of the assigned assets;
  • Support the operability, reliability, and turn-arounds of the assigned assets;
  • Plan and monitor multiple basic budgets and mid-sized investments. Support the coordination and scheduling of assigned plant safety and reliability inspections;
  • Review results and support plan, design, and execution of necessary repairs and/or modifications to resolve discrepancies identified by the Mechanical Integrity group;
  • Supports and participates in root cause analysis, asset criticality analysis and failure mode and effect analysis studies to improve reliability of the area equipment;
  • Evaluates materials of construction of process and utility equipment to assist reliability and performance;
  • Support effort for identifying, evaluating, and implementing equipment and process modifications to eliminate deficiencies and bottlenecks;
  • Responsible for troubleshooting assigned asset and process problems Supports compliance with safety and environmental requirements and engineering standards regarding equipment and material technology;
  • Complies with site safety rules and actively works to improve safety through coaching or engineered improvements;
  • Assist with maintaining the following equipment documentation: equipment descriptions, spare parts, equipment lists, histories, manuals, flow sheet documentation, drawings, etc.;
  • Provides equipment-specific technical training on the operation and maintenance of process equipment in process operations; supports start- up of unit operations; supports equipment reliability and performance to enable best practices in plant operations;
  • Promotes continued development of self and area personnel through peer coaching and providing constructive feedback;
  • Support Site and Area Production System improvements, OnePSS;
  • Shares significant engineering workload that is required to maintain process operations and support plant maintenance activities.  Accomplishments and short-term plant performance is measure of success;
  • Responsibility for mechanical maintenance activities in the plant.  Requires high level direction, but capable to direct self in identifying work steps.  Limited oversight required for tasks in support of routine operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or Masters of Arts in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Self-motivated;
  • Safety Oriented;
  • Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders;
  • Adapt priorities to changing needs.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years maintenance, project, or reliability experience.

 

Domestic relocation assistance available

 

Position is located onsite in Rock Springs, Wyoming

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $73,000 to $109,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant  factors.
