Genome Editing Lead 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Genome Editing role leads a team of scientists in the discovery, development, and implementation of novel genome engineering tools to significantly accelerate the rate of product improvement and the deployment of traits and genome-edited products.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Genome Editing Lead, are to:

 

  • Lead a team of scientists in the development of new technology and techniques which significantly accelerate our ability to deploy improved genetics;
  • Serve as a thought leader for truly innovative ideas for long term impact on product design;
  • Partner with other functions working on genome design, precision breeding, genomics, and data science to ensure collaborative development of tools and techniques;
  • Contribute as a member of initiative teams working on multiple Global Breeding strategy areas;
  • Develop strong partnerships with other teams in Global Breeding and Biotechnology to ensure broad utility and impact of results;
  • Develop a broad knowledge of global internal and external advances and plan pertaining to genome biology and technology;
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory, patent scientists, and operations.

Required qualifications:

 

  • Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics or biochemistry, or a related field with at least 8 years of industry experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading scientists;
  • Demonstrated track record of solving challenging and complex problems;
  • Experience in method development and the ability to define and implement desired technical strategies;
  • Exceptional leadership, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills will be required to negotiate scope/resources, manage, and project status, and synchronize activities with team members, stakeholders, and management.

 

Domestic relocation is offered for this role.
