Field Prod Representative 




The primary responsibilities of this role, Field Production Representative, are to: 


  • Select growers to achieve higher production reliability, which include reviewing grower skill and capability, previous performance, isolation distance, production area suitability, optimum sowing window, etc;
  • Execute all aspects of contractual agreements, propose changes to grower pricing and contract guidelines/ strategies;
  • Lead and/or Support field activities including: timely stock seeds (SS) shipment to grower and SS reconciliation, trial coordination, rouging, disease and weed scouting, pollination, harvesting, threshing, drying, and delivery from grower to processing facility;
  • Visit and keep track of the production fields at every phenological stage;
  • Engage with growers to adopt best practices to maximize seed yield and quality;
  • Train production workers (labor crew) and growers;
  • Update production yield estimates in Bayer digital platforms in a timely and realistic manner;
  • Ensure that field inspections are done in a timely manner with Field Quality team and local authorities to obtain required phytosanitary certificates for seed exportation;
  • Analyze past production quantity, quality, base rates, cost and timeliness data;
  • Address areas for improvement, simplification, optimization, or expansion of our business, including Grower Performance analysis;
  • Support and assist the Production Coordinator to ensure timely grower settlement and resolve any grower/vendor issues;
  • Cooperate with Crop Specialist, Field Quality and Production Research personnel to identify, develop and implement projects to improve reliability, quality, and/or cost;
  • Ensure external and internal compliance in our operations, including Health Safety Environment (HSE), Human Rights, Business Conduct, QMS, BIO-ETS, and SOX;
  • Member of NAM / Regional VS PS Seed Production team;
  • Interface with VS PS Global Production Team, Research and Development (R&D), Planning, Customer Service, Logistics, Seed Technology/PR, Trade and Compliance, Data and Analytics, Product Management, TD, Quality, Finance/Controlling, IT, Tolling Operations Personnel;
  • Interact with State Ag Departments.

Required Qualifications:


  • Relevant Bachelor’s of Science degree or High school diploma (MS or MBA, preferred) with at least three years' experience in seed industry;
  • Excellent human relation skills, effective communication skills;
  • Ability to influence all levels in the organization;
  • Customer focus, Innovation and experimentation, collaboration and implementation of best practices, knowledge sharing process oriented, results orientated, negotiations skills, plans and aligns;
