Field Crew Assistant 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Field Crew Assistant, are to:

 

  • Assist the Field Crew Leads in all needed activities related to managing and facilitating the work of field crew members, such as transportation within and to and from Bayer facilities and provision of supplies at worksite;
  • Assist in other field activities such as weeding and rock and irrigation hose removal, also, planting, pollinating, harvesting, thrashing, shipping, weeding, preparing fields, preparing seed, sampling, detasseling, rogueing, and other field and seed activities related to crops and fields;
  • Provide support for the Bayer’s Safety program by adhering to all safety policies while working, and attendance at regular company sponsored safety meetings;
  • Assist in the maintenance and inspection of crew vehicles, as well as in improvement of the farms and other assets;
  • Call upon, protect crops from various animals that would damage them;
  • Adhere to all established SOP’s when carrying out assigned tasked, particularly as it relates to Safety compliance and Worker Protection Standard;
  • Be able to take daily direction from supervisors;
  • Assist by carrying out other duties as assigned;
  • Position entails driving a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). This may include being required to drive greater than 5,000 business miles annually in a personal, pooled, or rented vehicle OR being expected to frequently drive a pooled car as part of your job duties – regardless of mileage.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Capability to perform at least of eight hours of field work daily with some overtime;
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and give direction to others;
  • Capability to use Information Technology (IT) systems and software;
  • Ability to perform and lead assigned tasks accurately;
  • Ability to lift 40lbs;
  • Valid driver’s license; Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed and must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers;
  • If transporting employees, be at least 21 years old.
