Intern: Business Analyst 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

As Bayer Crop Science's Digital Farming arm, we deliver sustainable digital solutions using the latest agronomic science, data science, engineering, and real-world farming experience. With groundbreaking technologies like Climate FieldView and our ForGround regenerative agriculture platform, our team is a part of some of the most important advancements in agriculture. 

Digital Farming is seeking a Business Analyst Intern to partner and collaborate across Digital New Value and FieldView Teams to support the execution of our commercial strategies and the development of in-depth analytics supporting key stakeholders. The Business Analyst Intern relies highly on building strong relationships and working cross-functionally with commercial and technical teams to constantly evolve data availability, accuracy, and business reporting.  If you are passionate about innovation and excited about being a key contributor to building a sustainable business, DFS would love to talk to you! 

 

What You Will Do:  

  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with global teams, commercial stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide support in the form of quick data insights, dashboards and reports 

  • Perform detailed data exploration and validation from a variety of sources?  

  • Build reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our business 

  • Develop new insights and analyses to help the business to make informed decisions 

  • Data mining, statistical analysis, and data visualization to help understand how growers are interacting with our product  

  • Effectively summarize and present critical findings to stakeholders and leadership  

  • Able to interact with their team members in a positive way and take direction from their project lead and manager 

  • Able to identify gaps in data and articulate issues and the ability to provide accurate and complete reports with limited insights and conclusions 

 

WHO YOU ARE 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Statistics or other relevant fields of study  

  • Familiarity with data reporting tools (Tableau) including data visualization and dashboarding experience 

  • Detail oriented with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills  

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, committed to delivering consistent, accurate and high-quality products 

  • Strong critical thinking skills with an ability to clearly and concisely communicate key ideas, both verbally and in writing 

  • Understanding of master data management, relational databases, columnar databases, ETL and data warehousing 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Foundational project management understanding with some experience acting as liaison between business and technical teams 

  • Demonstrated ability to write in SQL/VBA 

  • Demonstrated ability to curate data and develop reports/dashboards to provide actionable insights 

  • Ability to extract data from databases using BigQuery or similar tools
