Data Governance Specialist III - Remote 




In this role as a Data Governance Specialist III, you will be responsible for delivering data policies, procedures, and processes. You will be supporting pipeline management, operations, and analytics through applied knowledge of breeding workflows, data platforms, and stakeholder engagement to enable a step-change in business and enterprise data findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability. Your primary responsibilities in this role are to: 


  • Develop and implement data governance policy, including procedures, periodic review and updates, and communication;
  • Develop master and reference data resources and ensure implementation as business, technical, or operational metadata in Business or Enterprise data systems;
  • Proactively identify data governance master data management, or data protection technologies and support implementation in Business or Enterprise data systems;
  • Review and enrich Bayer or Bayer Crop Science cybersecurity policies for Breeding utilization, and support implementation and monitoring;
  • Execute, communicate, and ensure compliance to data governance, master data, and cybersecurity policies across applications and key business datasets;
  • Drive organizational acceptance and reporting of accountability and auditing of compliance to data policies;
  • Support and enrich data knowledge to improve data fluency across both business and technical experts;
  • Actively develop data knowledge content in gap areas, and support knowledge sharing with data science and business strategy stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree with seven years experience, OR Master’s degree with five years experience OR Ph.D. with one year of experience;
  • Degree in computer science, engineering, science, agriculture or other related field;
  • Experience in crop science research or related biological field;
  • Experience with effective cross-functional communication and change management principles;
  • Experience with data governance, master data management, and data protection approaches and technology solutions.


This position will be based at our Chesterfield, Missouri location but is remote work eligible.
